AVSI

Da anni il Gandhi sostiene a distanza ragazzi di tutti i continenti, tramite l’associazione AVSI.  Attualmente, sono in corso le adozioni a distanza di:

• APURA TODOKIN in Kenya
• VALENTINA LISSETH VACA LLANOS in Equador
• MARYAM HAITHAM SAFARBENEAMIN in Iraq
• MOHAMMAD-ALI HALAWI in Libano

Mercoledì 7 dicembre, il dott. Antonino Masuri, responsabile della missione AVSI in Kenya, sarà in collegamento telefonico con il Gandhi e, con lui, ci sarà anche APURA.

Ecco che cosa sappiamo del ragazzo:

Apura is a young boy, born on 16/10/2011. He comes from a family of five inclusive of his parents. Apura lives with his step mother, after the death of his mother when he was very young. The step mother did not treat him well but with the  intervention of the Incarnate Sisters, she reformed. The family lives in a small house which is not adequate for  the family and needs much repair. Apura’s step mother is the sole provider of the family. She does not have a stable source of generating income. Apura’s stepmother relies on small casual works whose income is too  little to cater for the family expenses. The family does not have a latrine but use the bush which is not hygienic.  The family also lacks basic needs in that they go for days without meal. Apura goes to Rotu Primary which is  500 m away from home. Apura is in class 4 and his performance is good.

THE INTERVENTION PLAN OF DISTANCE SUPPORT PROJECT

Apura is a hardworking boy who is doing well in school. With your generous support we shall ensure that he  has access to quality and regular education. We shall pay school fees for him and also provide him with other  educational needs such as school uniforms, shoes, books, pencils etc. We shall also provide Apura with free  medical care and ensure that he receives a balanced diet that will help him grow healthy. Apura will also be  able to interact with other students thus being able to grow socially. Apura will be followed and guided by the  Incarnate word sisters and our educators who will always ensure that he has everything he needs throughout  this development journey. We shall get in contact with his mother and take her through Business Skills &  Entrepreneurship trainings to be able to start and run her own business. She will also receive Life Skills and  Parental Skill trainings to improve her relationship with her children. We shall continue to walk with the family  by guiding and supporting them.
